Property consultancy sold off in deal worth £38m

Countrywide property group has today announced the proposed sale of its commercial wing, Lambert Smith Hampton, (LSH) for £38m.

LSH, which has a base in Leeds, is a UK and Ireland property consultancy with over 40 offices and 1,700 staff. It is to be sold to private buyer, John Bengt Moeller. He is the founder of Great Global Holdings, a holding company for a number of UK and international companies in the business of commercial property.

Global legal business DWF, which also has a Leeds office,advised Countrywide on the transaction.

The DWF team advising Countrywide was led by Leeds-based Partner, Lester Wilson with Amelia Mackie, Tim Howden, James Lonsdale, John Toon, Andrew Carr, Jim Speed, Nick Wallace and Helen Balliger.

Commenting on the sale of Lambert Smith Hampton Peter Long, executive chairman of Countrywide, said: “The sale of the Lambert Smith Hampton commercial business strengthens the Group.

“Once completed, we believe that the Group will be in a more advantageous position in our core residential market. The Group remains on course to deliver a full year result in line with the Board’s expectations.”
