Contractor taken on to build four-storey apartment block.

National firm Tolent has been awarded a £4.1m contract to deliver 32 apartments for client Modernistiq in York.
Sitting just outside the city centre on Redeness Street, the four-storey apartment block includes a mix of one and two bedrooms with a private roof terrace on the fourth floor.
Designed by Den Architecture, the project replaces a recently demolished retail outlet and will also include minor landscaping works and create 16 private car parking spaces.
This latest win for Tolent marks a positive step in the company expanding its housing and residential services further into Yorkshire, having been established across the central region of the UK for nearly 30 years.
Regional director for Tolent, John Currie, said: “We’re delighted to have been awarded this contract and to be working with Modernistiq for the first time.
“Tolent is an expert in the residential sector, having completed over £1bn of work spanning from large-scale housing regeneration projects to high-rise apartment blocks across the country.
“This project is a fantastic opportunity for us to now showcase this expertise to a new audience across the Yorkshire region and beyond.”
Tolent started on site in November and the scheme is due to finish late 2020.
Marc Black, Partner at Modernistiq, said: “We are delighted to be working with Tolent on this project. The whole team has been forward thinking and developer friendly in their approach to this development.”
A spokesman for Den Architecture said: “It’s great to see this exiting project moving onto site and we look forward to working with Tolent on the delivery.”
Tolent is also currently on site delivering a £34m project in Leeds to create 216 apartments and a £9.5m student accommodation block on Burley Street that will deliver 87 studio apartments.
