Sir Roger Marsh OBE DL

Leeds City Region will celebrate its growing relationship with China at the 2020 Leeds City Region China Business Awards with official media partner TheBusinessDesk.com

The awards aim to highlight the scale and variety of business activity that is taking place with the world’s largest country in the world by population, with over 160 cities of more than a million inhabitants.

The occasion will feature the categories Leeds City Region-China partnership; Exporter of the year; Chinese investment; and Arts and culture.

Roger Marsh, chairman of the Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership (LEP) and NP11, said: “I am delighted that entries are now open for the Leeds City Region China Business Awards which take place later this month.

“China, the second largest global economy, invested £3.8 billion in the UK last year and presents a huge opportunity for the City Region.

“The LEP, in partnership with the Business Confucius Institute at the University of Leeds, the China-Britain Business Council and Visit Leeds are hosting the awards to recognise all the exciting China partnerships and business links which exist across the region.

“I encourage any individual, company or organisation that has made a significant contribution to doing business or developing partnerships with the China-market to apply.”

There is still time to enter the awards with more information available here.

Winners will be announced as part of the Chinese New Year Business Networking event on Tuesday 21 January.

The event is being hosted by the LEP in partnership with Business Confucius Institute at the University of Leeds, and Visit Leeds.

Sponsors include Market Gravity, Mills & Reeve and China-Britain Business Council.
