People: Sales director taken on at storage and racking specialist; Technical manager hired at IT services provider; and more

Storage and racking specialist Fil – formerly Filplastic – has appointed Mike Gorman as its new sales director.

Gorman brings more than 17 years of industry experience to the East Yorkshire company, having supplied builders’ merchants, national DIY chains, supermarkets and high street and budget retailers.

Initially, he will be covering the North West region for Fil, but his role will grow once the company recruits a permanent business development manager to cover this area.

His role will also see him manage the company’s key accounts, ensuring Fil’s customers continue to receive market-leading service.

Paul Taylor, managing director of Fil, said: “Mike has worked in our industry a long time, so I have always been aware of how well he knows the racking and storage industry and the sectors that we work in, and how well liked and respected he is.

“He is a fantastic addition to our business development team and I’m sure he will play a big part in our continued growth plans, both in the builders’ merchant sector and by helping us break into new industries.

“I am really pleased he has decided to join Fil and I’m very much looking forward to working closely with him.”

Gorman added: “Fil are extremely well known in the industry. As a result, when I quoted for jobs, they were always the company to beat, so it’s great to be joining such a market leading business.

“One of Fil’s greatest assets is their agility. They are extremely adaptable. That means they can make decisions quickly and respond to market trends.

“I’m really looking forward to working in such a dynamic environment.”
