North Yorkshire restaurant property on the market

A prominent site which until recently was the home of well-known Harrogate restaurant Chez La Vie has gone on the market.

The fully equipped venue on Skipton Road, formerly the Nelson Inn, has extensive kitchens and catering facilities alongside a 110 cover restaurant.

The site is being marketed by FSS Estate Agents for lease, with a possible option to purchase.

Adam Crawfurd-Porter, of FSS, said: “This is an exciting opportunity for someone to move in and get up and running immediately, making the most of the excellent bar and restaurant facilities that already exist.

“The premises are on a busy route between Harrogate and Hampsthwaite and have long been familiar to local residents as a place for dining out.”

He said the sizeable site, which includes over 8,500 sq ft of accommodation, a large car park and grounds, offered scope for further development subject to planning.

“As this is such an accessible location within easy reach of Harrogate town centre, the possibilities to expand its earning potential are significant,” he said. “There is potential to add staff or customer letting bedrooms and introduce additional retail revenue, for example with a farm shop, ice cream parlour, takeaway or other diversification.

“With far-reaching views and many character features, this is a rare opportunity to take over a prime venue and quickly start making the most of the thousands of potential customers passing the premises every day.”
