Weekender: Ice cream parlour hoping to be scooped up by new buyer

A family-run ice cream parlour in Doncaster is going on the market as its current vendor, Amtziant Kamar, says he wants to dedicate more time to his busy family life.

Addiction Desserts on Silver Street, Doncaster, has spent three years selling and delivering desserts including smoothies, gateaux slices, ice cream, cheesecakes and hot drinks.

The parlour is the brainchild of both Kamar and his cousin, Jermaine Ahmed – who helped create the business name.

Business Broker Hilton Smythe is marketing the independent dessert shop at £59,995 plus stock at valuation.

Kamar said: “It is a shame to be selling the business as it is becoming increasingly popular with a lot of repeat customers and I am sorry to let them down. It has been a great experience and I am proud of our success, but I know it is the right time to take time for my family now.

“When we bought the shop, we invested a lot of time, effort and money into it, fully refurbishing it and producing a range of delicious desserts available for delivery. It soon built up a fantastic reputation, which I hope lives on, and I look forward to see what the new owners do with the shop.”

Gareth Smyth, CEO of Hilton Smythe Group, said: “Addiction Desserts has an enviable reputation and is in a great location. The premises are in excellent condition following its refurbishment by Mr Kamar, providing the new owners the benefit of not needing to work on the premises.

“The business offers the opportunity for the new owner to benefit from huge growth potential with a proven track record of a fun environment, delicious desserts and a high volume of repeat customers.

“I wish Mr Kamar and his family the best and it is a privilege to be able to find the perfect new owners for the ice cream parlour.”
