More jobs created as retailer opens showroom
Kitchen retailer Wren Kitchens has opened its doors in Harrogate, creating more than 20 local jobs.
Its 19,190 sq ft showroom has 66 kitchens on display as well as a 3D virtual reality room, an interior design studio for local interior designers and architects to use and a specialist trade centre dedicated to local kitchen professionals. It is located at Hookstone Retail Park.
The Lord Mayor and Mayoress of Harrogate, Councillor Stuart Martin and April Martin, cut the ribbon to officially welcome the public for the first time.
Wren, a Yorkshire and-Lincolnshire based company, donated £500 to the Mayor’s charity funds which supports Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the TASC Madagascar charity.
Cllr Martin said: “I’m really proud of such a large, successful organisation like Wren coming to Harrogate and I’ve been blown away by the success stories I’ve heard from the Wren team.
“I’d like to wish Wren all the success here in Harrogate, and I’m confident they will be, positioned in such a prominent, busy retail park.”
MP for Harrogate and Knaresborough, Andrew Jones, also attended the opening. He said: “It was impressive to see the new Wren showroom and meet some of their team. Wren is a rapidly growing Yorkshire based business and it’s easy to see why they have grown so quickly.
“Their kitchens are manufactured in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire and it’s always positive to see local manufacturing success.”
The former Carpetright unit underwent a three-month transformation to renovate it, including the installation of a new mezzanine floor. It’s also created 23 new jobs in retail, design and surveying.

“We’re now eager to offer our expertise and years of design experience to enhance the way people live, as a well-planned kitchen can have a really positive impact on day-to-day lives.
Harrogate is Wren’s 91st showroom in the UK. It is open Monday to Friday 9am to 8pm, Saturday 9am to 6pm and Sunday 10:30am to 5pm.
