Buyer found for established town restaurant

Experienced operator Thai Corner has bought Ricci’s Tapas & Cicchetti in Halifax.

The sale was arranged by specialist property business advisor, Christie & Co.

Ricci’s Tapas & Cicchetti is in the Dean Clough Mill licensed zone just outside the town centre. New owner, Thai Corner, has taken the lease opportunity adding to its other two food outlets in Halifax.

Ratchanee Peacock, owner at Thai Corner, said: “ We are very excited about the acquisition. The stylish restaurant is now serving fresh Thai cuisine in a stunning location.”

Previous owner, Michael Ricci, has owned and operated the premises successfully since 2012 on a 10 year-term. However, he said he is now looking forward to focusing his energy on Ricci’s Place in Halifax, as well as on other restaurant ventures overseas.

He added: “I’m pleased to have sold the leasehold premises after a busy period in Dean Clough Mill. I can now focus more on Ricci’s Place in Halifax and future plans with my family. A big ‘thank you’ to Sam Ashton at Christie & Co for introducing Thai Corner.”

Ashton, senior business agent at Christie & Co, said: “After mixed interest in 2019, I am delighted to confirm the sale to Thai Corner.

“The new owners are showing ongoing appetite for new venues. The sale shows an ongoing buyer demand for quality restaurant venues into 2020, and demonstrates positive signs for the sector moving forward.”
