An employment law and health and safety consultancy has expanded its presence in professional sports after securing employment law contracts with a further three county football associations.

Howarths, based in Cleckheaton, has been appointed by Birmingham FA, Berks & Bucks FA and Staffordshire FA.

Gavin Howarth, managing director at Howarths, said the contracts have already come into swift effect amid the current coronavirus outbreak.

He explained: “We have been working closely with a number of our FA clients over the past week or so to help them understand the options applicable to them under the Government’s Job Retention Scheme and what can be done immediately to help safeguard both organisations and staff during this period.

“Howarths is delighted to have been chosen to provide employment law support to these three county football associations that are developing grassroots football across the UK.”

The trio of new projects takes Howarths’ roster of football association contracts to 10, adding to the company’s growing sports portfolio which includes The Leeds United Foundation, the official charity of Leeds United Football Club.
