Language tech provider hired by retail giant

Global language technology provider, thebigword, has secured a new contract with American-based company Walmart Inc – one of the largest retailers in the world.

The firm is offering a range of translation services to the global organisation including its neural machine translation solution.

Unlike free translation tools in the public sphere, thebigword’s neural Machine Translation is extremely secure which allows users to translate confidential information, without risking the data being retained by the service provider.

The Leeds-based firm’s Machine Translation tool is powered by Artificial Intelligence and provides users with high quality instant translation.

thebigword is specifically supporting Walmart’s Global Lease Centre of Expertise (GLCE), which manages the company’s leases and its compliance with local laws.

It helps Walmart ensure all its stores are compliant with the regulations of the country where the store is located.

Commenting on the partnership, Mark Daley, thebigword’s chief operating officer said: “We are proud of the work we do to break down language barriers around the globe.

“I am delighted that thebigword will be providing our high-quality translation services to such a retail giant as Walmart.”t
