Funding package helps business battle the virus
A Leeds-based medical device company has secured a six-figure funding package from HSBC UK to enable it to provide millions of infection control items to the NHS key workers during the COVID-19 outbreak.
Optimum Medical designs and manufactures the UK’s largest range of healthcare lubricant gels, in addition to a range of urology products and infection control products including OptiPro antibacterial wipes.
Its products, such as OptiLube and Vue Ultrasound Gel, are supplied to over 300 Health Trusts nationwide and used in every NHS hospital in the UK.
Optimum also exports its products to more than 60 countries across Europe, North America, Africa, Asia and Australia.
In reaction to the pandemic, and with HSBC UK support, the company has increased investment in its antibacterial wipe and infection control range by manufacturing millions of anti-bacterial wipes, hand sanitisers and face masks for NHS hospitals and care homes across the UK.
The company, which currently employs 48 members of staff, has received a vast number of orders for its infection control range in the past few months.
