Town’s newest health spa to reopen this weekend

A new £2m spa in the centre of Harrogate, which was a week away from its official launch before the COVID-19 pandemic struck, is to reopen this Saturday – July 25.

The Harrogate Spa – located in the grounds of the recently-refurbished DoubleTree by Hilton Harrogate Majestic Hotel – will be offering a revised number of treatments and packages, which must be pre-booked.

Director Lynn Roach said: “We are very excited to be reopening our doors this weekend, and very much looking forward to being able to pamper guests once again.

“Whilst we can’t offer all our services or facilities at the moment, it is still going to be a fabulous experience, and one that is guaranteed to relax and rejuvenate.

“Whilst we can’t wait for Saturday to come, we are counting down the days when we can fully reopen.”

In 2016, the Majestic Hotel was purchased by the Cairn Group who announced a major £15m investment programme to enable the 184-bedroom property to become the town’s first DoubleTree by Hilton.

At the same time, and to capitalise on the town’s spa heritage, it began transforming the leisure club into The Harrogate Spa.

Before the pandemic it was offering a range of therapeutic thermal experiences, including a spa pool, sauna, steam room and ice fountain.

It also features a 12.5m indoor pool and six treatment rooms, a spa café and terrace, fully equipped gym and studio.
