Former garden centre site is up for sale

An opportunity to acquire a commercial development site on the outskirts of Harrogate has gone on the market.

The former Cascades Garden Centre, on the A61 at Bishop Monkton between Harrogate and Ripon, closed earlier this year after the owner’s decision to relocate.

Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) is selling the two-acre site which includes existing buildings extending to 18,363 sq ft, on behalf of a private client.

Offers in the region of £850,000 are invited for the freehold property, which is sold with vacant possession.

As well as once being home to the largest suppliers of aquarium-related equipment and fish stock in the North of England, the property has also been operated as a wedding venue, specialist food emporium and children’s party room.

Richard Corby, director at LSH’s Leeds office and a life-long Harrogate resident, said: “This is a rare opportunity for a local business to acquire a site for its own use, or for a developer to create a business park offering a range of accommodation for commercial occupiers.”
