Dozens of homes being built in grounds of castle

Work is under way on 38 new homes, which are being built in the grounds of the historic Sneaton Castle in High Stakesby on the outskirts of Whitby.

Harrison Homes has just released the first nine properties at the development, known as Castle Fields, for sale via local estate agent, Hendersons.

Harrison Homes is part of York-based development firm S Harrison. Once complete, Castle Fields will offer a range of homes, from two-bedroom bungalows to five-bedroom detached family houses. The first properties will be ready to move into by the end of 2020.

David Clancy, from S Harrison said: “It’s a very unique development with views of the moors complemented by the spectacular backdrop of Sneaton Castle. There will be 16 different house styles to choose from.

“We believe our development and the range of homes we’re offering will appeal to all types of buyers including families, downsizers, first time buyers and those retiring or buying a second home.”
