Agency round-up: Jaywing and Little Mesters

Oppo, a low calorie ice cream brand founded in 2013 by two London brothers, has launched a summer campaign created with Sheffield-headquartered marketing agency Jaywing.

It aims to set Oppo apart from competitors by emphasising its use of natural ingredients. The campaign has been translated into multiple languages across Europe.

Matthew Sherratt, head of international marketing at Oppo, said: “We’re really excited about this campaign and how it communicates the quality product and sustainable ingredients that give us a premium product like no other in the category in an easy to digest message.

“Jaywing showed an insightful, flexible and personal approach, tapping into our audience with a credible brand truth, and engaging copy, to drive great taste and low calorie without compromise. We’re thrilled to see it come to life.”

Brían Taylor, managing director at Jaywing, said: “The team has loved working with Oppo to help bring their brand to life with a fun, stand out campaign which hits their foodie first audience across a variety of channels.

“We’re looking forward to seeing how we can continue to work together and help them achieve their goals of growth within Europe, as well as within the UK marketplace.”

A brand new digital agency has been launched in Sheffield.

Little Mesters Agency is planning to shake up agency land by offering clients tailored-made teams made up of individual creatives and experts on a project basis, rather than providing a standard retained account team.

Founded by Tom Scott, formerly of Umpf, Engage Interactive and Content OD, Little Mesters was inspired by a trip to a local museum.

A ‘Little Mester’ is a master crafter working on a specific part of a production process. Mitigating the need to have all skills in house, so no more Jack of all trades but Mesters of one.

They new agency is intending to bring this concept into the digital age. It is already working with a number of clients on projects including social media, paid social, PPC, design, influencer marketing and more.

Little Mesters is also dedicating Tuesday afternoons to offer free advice.

Scott said: “The time has come for change. There has been a way of doing things that has now been exposed as inflexible and costly.

“Retainers and overage are out, projects and fair costs are in.”
