Recycling business set for expansion following partnership

S&J Synergy delivers a total waste management service for manufacturers in food, wood, glass and plastic. It has now partnered with heavy-load handing equipment experts Hiab to support its ambitious expansion plans.

The Hull-based family run business which aims to reduce landfill by recycling waste before supplying the materials back to businesses, has recently won a number of new contracts and as a result has invested in increasing the size of its feet to 15 with more than half of these fitted with Hiab’s lifting systems.

Jill Gibson, managing director for S&J Synergy said, “At the core of our business we collect waste material and process it in our own material recycling facility so it can become a new product.

“For instance, we play a major role in the supply chain of a customer who makes dumbbells and grass reinforcement grids from plastic we have sourced and recycled, so reliability and performance are vital for us.

“I’m really proud to help reduce landfill waste and help businesses operate more sustainable practices. Organisations are really waking up to the circular economy movement, which presents a really exciting opportunity for us as a business.

“We know we need a supply chain partner who we can rely on and shares our ethos for sustainability, which is why we’ve chosen Hiab as a preferred supplier.”
