Boost for shopping centre after £1m refurbishment is completed

Doncaster’s retail outlet shopping centre, Lakeside Village, has completed a significant refurbishment programme, which has seen over £1m invested in the site.

The centre, which is home to major brands such as, Clarks, M&S Outlet and GAP Outlet, has undergone a makeover with everything from the shop fronts to the landscaping of the site enhanced.

Work on the site, which is located on White Rose Way, has taken place over the last few months.

It has included new high-level LED signs, planters, trees and further landscaping on the malls and car park, new street furniture such as bins and benches, a revamped jungle-themed outdoor play area, new uniform for staff, more modern lighting and a sound system.

In addition, a fresh logo has been introduced which has seen new signage and branding added across the centre as well as a revamped Lakeside Lawn area for customers to relax and enjoy.

Di Rodgers, centre manager, said: “We’re really pleased with the investment made into our centre and the completion of the work has been a great boost for us during what has been a challenging few months due to the pandemic.

“However, this refurbishment along with the new B&M store and the fact that since the centre reopened some of our stores are reporting double digit growth, means we strongly believe this is the start of a brand new-era for Lakeside Village.

“With an increasing number of popular brands, we want to make sure the centre reflects its fast-growing reputation as one of Yorkshire’s most popular outlet shopping centres.

“It’s a really exciting time for us and we hope our customers will see the benefits the refurbishment has brought and enjoy coming to Lakeside Village even more than ever.”

Lakeside Village, is owned by Kent County Council with DTZ Investment Management operating as fund manager and Realm as asset manager for the shopping outlet.
