Debt solutions firm grabs space at refurbished offices

Freeze Debt, a debt solutions business, has signed a six-year lease on a 1,070 sq ft third floor suite in Boar Lane, Leeds.

Letting agent Carter Towler has secured this second office tenant for the newly refurbished Ambler House building, opposite Trinity Leeds.

Harriet Lawson, of Carter Towler, said: “It’s really encouraging to have found such a great tenant for Ambler House – especially at a time like this.

“We have all been facing new challenges and uncertainty since the onset of lockdown, but so far we’ve had an incredibly positive response to the £2m revival of this magnificent Grade II listed building.

“Although Freeze Debt is a relatively new company, it is already making quite a reputation for itself in the FinTech sector.

“The company has developed a smartphone app that helps people manage their debts more effectively and it is attracting a lot of attention.

“Ambler House is the perfect location for growing companies like Freeze Debt who are looking for distinctive, high quality, centrally located offices.

“We have a selection of different sized suites remaining within the building ranging from 875 to 3,835 sq ft.”

The entire 14,500 sq ft, five-storey building, which forms an integral part of Trevelyan Square, has been extensively upgraded in a complex renovation scheme managed by Carter Towler’s building services division.

Eleven contemporary office suites have been created on the four upper floors, along with two additional retail/leisure units on the ground floor.

All of the historic façade has been retained and a new glazed entrance and reception have been added. The interior has been remodelled to create ultra-modern, stripped-back open plan office spaces.

Freeze Debt CEO, Harjit Moore, said: “It has been fantastic working with the landlord’s managing agent Petit Papillon and Carter Towler to secure these offices.

“We are at a very exciting stage in the growth of our business and Ambler House is the perfect base for our expanding team. It will enable us to attract the additional high calibre personnel we want to join us.

“Since launching our app in May 2019, we have helped hundreds of people from across the UK re-evaluate their financial positions.

“There has been a marked increase in activity in the last three to four months, as more and more people need practical and compassionate advice about how best to tackle the negative financial effects of the pandemic.”

Ambler House, which forms part of the Trevelyan Square estate, is managed by Petit Papillon and Carter Towler is retained as the sole letting agent.
