Plans submitted for £30m warehouse and distribution centre

About 400 jobs could be created under plans for a £30m warehouse and distribution centre in East Yorkshire.

Developer Wykeland said the facility, near North Ferriby, would provide a major boost for the local economy a major boost.

The plans for the 93,861 sq ft property at Melton West Business Park have been submitted to East Riding of Yorkshire Council.

Wykeland says permission has already been given for a temporary facility, which the latest application seeks to make permanent.

A spokesman for the company told the BBC: “The development will deliver substantial long-term investment and create significant numbers of new jobs.

“We understand that any planning application can lead to concern from local communities. The purpose-designed facility will be fully in keeping with other uses already sited at Melton West Business Park.”
