A digital agency which opened a satellite office in Leeds 2018 is now relocating its HQ to the city.

dxw, announced the move at the Leeds Digital Festival, further demonstrating the city region’s strength as a place to grow a digital business and providing a boost to the local economy.

The agency which serves the public sector across the UK originally received support from Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership in 2018 when it opened a satellite office via the #welcome fund.  Aimed at tech businesses that want to set up a new presence in the region it offers funding of £10,000-£50,000 to support relocation or expansion projects.

However two years later the business now plans to run its operations from the city. dxw’s managing director David Mann explained that the team had been “so impressed with the collaborative digital community, access to talent and the supportive business environment in Leeds City Region” they took the decision to relocate from London to Yorkshire.

He added: “There’s a big public sector presence in and around Leeds, and we’re well connected with other cities. The support from the LEP and Leeds City Council has been invaluable, and the LEP’s #welcome scheme is superb. We would encourage businesses like ours to make the most of it.”

Roger Marsh, OBE DL, Chair of Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership (the LEP) and NP11 said: “I am delighted that dxw are moving their HQ to Leeds City Region. This investment signals that our region remains attractive to high-growth, digital firms that are the key to the region’s economic recovery.

“I am confident that Leeds City Region will provide the ideal base for the business to expand and grow and I look forward to following their future success.”

Cllr Judith Blake, CBE, Leader of Leeds City Council added:   “Leeds is the fastest growing digital economy outside London and a great place to be based for any business and we are delighted with the news that dxw are moving their HQ to Leeds.

“With economic conditions now adapting in the Covid-19 world, we are keen to support and encourage businesses like dxw to expand, grow and benefit both our local economy and the wider city region.”
