New tenants announced for mixed use scheme

Leeds-based property investor and car parking operator, Town Centre Securities (TCS) has secured two new lettings, totalling over 4,300 sq ft, at its Vicar Lane scheme between Victoria Quarter and Victoria Gate in Leeds city centre.

Creating five new jobs, Nomad, a collaboration between men’s fashion retailer, Arnold & Co and women’s fashion and jewellery brand Say Paloma, will occupy a 3,653 sq ft unit on the basement, ground and first floors at 84-86 Vicar Lane.

It joins an established line up of high end fashion retailers at Vicar Lane including designer retro brand We are Cow and Flannels.

In addition, Hairitage Barbers has agreed a 10-year lease at 6 Eastgate, taking space over the basement and ground floors, creating three new jobs.

Hairitage is the realisation of Northern Iraq-born Ako Abdullah who has worked with some of the most prestigious barber shops in West Yorkshire over the past 20 years.

Abdullah said: “The opening of my new venue on Eastgate is a dream come true and I believe the location close to the prestigious Victoria Quarter along with the expertise of our barbering team and great levels of service will be key to its success.”

Charles Newman, associate director at TCS, said: “We are delighted to welcome two new tenants to our Vicar Lane scheme which is a significant achievement, bucking the trend across the current retail landscape and challenging climate.

“With an abundance of offices and the historic covered market close by, coupled with our prominent location between the established Victoria Quarter and Victoria Gate, we are confident these new and exciting brands will be perfectly placed to welcome discerning customers through their doors.”

TCS’s Vicar Lane asset is part of a mixed-use block, offering retail, residential and leisure opportunities.
