More than 100 staff facing redundancy at airport

At least 100 jobs are at risk at Leeds Bradford Airport due to the ongoing impact of COVID-19.

Bradford’s Telegraph & Argus newspaper has this afternoon reported that a total of 158 employees face redundancy consultations, with a view to losing 107 jobs.

It quotes an airport spokesman as saying: “We are deeply saddened to be consulting with a number of colleagues due to the impact of the global pandemic.

“Like most businesses, we are operating in extraordinary circumstances and this has led to some difficult decisions.

“The long-term prognosis for aviation is very different to the short-term constraints our business faces and we regrettably must act to safeguard the business.”
