Translation technology specialist lands Home Office contract

Leeds-based translation technology provider thebigword Group has secured a contract with the UK Home Office, offering full managed services through its platform WordSynk.

The contract will provide the Government department with access to all WordSynk translation and interpreting services including Onsite, Telephone and Video Remote Interpreting.

All language service requirements for the Home Office previously were split across two Language Service Providers, but thebigword is now sole provider and receives 100% of all interpreting, translation and transcription work from all areas covered under the contract.

WordSynk is a secure platform that combines all services into one platform to provide instant access to both translators and interpreters 24 hours a day and in over 250 language combinations.

It uses Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to automate and optimise the language market.

Clare Riches, global chief commercial officer at thebigword, said: “This is a great achievement for thebigword. We have a long history supporting the Home Office with all translation and interpreting services and we are delighted to continue providing access to best in class language services through WordSynk.”
