UK’s Entrepreneur of the Year to be revealed next week

The UK’s Entrepreneur of the Year will be unveiled next week at a virtual awards ceremony, with several leading figures from the North in the running for the prestigious title.

Moores chief executive Steve Parkin, Faisal Lalani and Jamil Mawji, co-founders and directors of National Care Group, St Pierre Groupe co-founder Paul Baker, Sykes Holiday Cottages chief executive Graham Donoghue, Richard Barlow, founder and chief executive of Wejo are on a 24-strong shortlist for the EY national awards after being named as regional winners earlier in the year.

The event is taking place on Thursday, December 10, from 7.30pm – 8.30pm. Click here to register.

EY’s Entrepreneur of the Year awards is a global initiative that have been running for more than 30 years, recognising the best entrepreneurs in more than 60 countries.

Mohsin and Zuber Issa won EY’s Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2018

Previous UK winners from the regions include Mohsin and Zuber Issa, from EG Group who are the new owners of Asda, James Lambert from R&R Ice Cream, Homeserve’s Richard Harpin and Codemasters co-founder David Darling of Codemasters.

The UK winner goes forward to the global competition, with ICAP’s Michael Spencer the last one to be successful, in 2009.
