Online used car retailer to launch ‘click and collect’ site
An online used car retailer is set to open a site in Doncaster as part of its new business model.
Cazoo is to launch a customer centre in Merchant Way after taking out a long-term lease on the 18,000 sq ft property.
The business, established by Alex Chesterman who also founded Zoopla and LoveFilm, agreed the deal through property consultancy Fisher German, working alongside joint agents Barnsdales who acted on behalf of the landlord, Doncaster-based property company The Ground Group.
The centre will provide a ‘click and collect’ option for customers purchasing a vehicle through the Cazoo website in addition to its home delivery service, with the business aiming to deliver cars within 72 hours.
Cazoo’s site in Doncaster is being launched as part of rapid expansion plans which has seen the business open a number of customer centres across the UK this year, with plans to open in a further 12 locations in 2021.
Ben Flint, of Fisher German, said: “It is fantastic to welcome Cazoo to such a prominent motor dealership premises in Doncaster.
“The business has signed a long-term lease on the property which demonstrates a great commitment to the town.
“We received a large amount of interest for the site from a number of global car retailers which is hugely positive and shows that, despite the current challenging market, there is still demand for good quality space.
“Although we were in a second lockdown, we were able to successfully complete the deal and achieve a very good result for our client.
“We look forward to seeing Cazoo open its new customer centre and wish the business every success as it continues its expansion.”
