People: Bell & Buxton Solicitors; Thrive Law; Jenx; and more

Sheffield-based Bell & Buxton Solicitors has announced that Demelza Wrigley, head of the family team, has been appointed a partner at the firm.

Wrigley is a family lawyer who deals with all aspects of separation and divorce and its implications, including finances, children issues, and proceedings, injunctions and domestic abuse and disputes between unmarried couples.

She is collaboratively trained, an accredited member of Resolution, a national body which recognises specialist knowledge and skills in areas of family law, and is accredited in children matters domestic abuse.

She studied at Sheffield Hallam University and The College of Law (York) and qualified as a solicitor in 2003, becoming an associate at Bell & Buxton in 2015.

In 2017 she won the ‘Family Law Award’ at the Yorkshire Legal Awards.

Solicitor Tom Stenner-Evans has joined Leeds-based legal practice, Thrive Law.

 

He is Thrive’s first partner appointment, and his addition is pivotal to the firm’s strategic growth plans.

Before joining Thrive, Stenner-Evans spent over 13 years at Michelmores LLP, a Top 100 national law firm, where he was a partner in the Employment Law team.

He is an experienced Employment Law specialist, with wide-ranging expertise in a number of sectors, including Education, F&I, Retail and Charities.

He was also a member of the firm’s Diversity & Inclusivity Committee, trainee recruitment panel and mentoring scheme.

Sheffield-based postural care specialist, Jenx, has strengthened its marketing team by promoting business development manager, Rachel Davis, to the role of marketing manager.

She initially joined the company’s UK distribution division, Jiraffe, as business development manager earlier this year, having previously worked as both an occupational therapist for three years and in the marketing team of a leading healthcare firm.

In her new role, she will be responsible for managing the marketing strategy and operational direction of both Jenx and Jiraffe in order to further develop both brands.

She said: “I’m over the moon to be changing role to marketing manager.

“In my new position, I’ll be getting under skin of the very best therapy practice and really dial it into product marketing processes.

“We’ve seen some fantastic growth as a business. Over the past few months, Jiraffe has been so busy supporting children and families across the UK during lockdown, giving us a great platform from which to grow the Jenx brand regionally, nationally and globally.”

The Institute of Directors has appointed Paul Stanley, CEO of Harrogate-based energy business CNG, as a new ambassador to its North Yorkshire committee.

Stanley is a Fellow of the IoD and has been leading public and private technology and services businesses globally for over 25 years.

As an ambassador, he will support IoD members to connect with one another, develop professionally and influence policy and decision-makers at the highest levels.

Stanley said: “The IoD was important to my early career development as I navigated the challenges of being a young entrepreneur and company director.

“The Institute helped me to build a valuable support network of friends and advisors.

“As we build back better, greener and fairer, I am excited about the business prospects for our region and the entrepreneurial talent coming from all parts of our diverse Yorkshire community.

“I am keen to help business leaders in our region to achieve their ambitions and repay the generosity shown to me by other IoD members over so many years.”

Tissue Regenix has announced its intention to appoint two new independent non-executive directors of the firm.

Brian Phillips, an entrepreneurial investment professional with over 25 years’ experience is the current principal of Ethos partners which he co-founded in 2018 to assist individuals in establishing a portfolio of assets under private equity investments. He will be appointed to the board along with Trevor Phillips (no relation) who is currently chairman of the board at NEPeSMO and has extensive experience in the UK and US in corporate development, M&A and operations in the pharmaceutical and life science industries.

Alongside this Alan Miller and Randeep Grewal have notified the board of their resignation as non-executive directors with immediate effect.
