Heritage and retail attraction reopens for business

The independent retail community at The Piece Hall, in Halifax, has reopened for business in the lead-up to Christmas.

Throughout December, the destination for retail, leisure and culture will offer both in-store and online retail services to enable businesses to operate and customers to shop flexibly throughout the coming weeks.

The Piece Hall will have enhanced trading hours, opening Monday to Wednesday 10am-6pm; Thursday to Saturday 10am-8pm; and Sunday 10am-5pm.

Nicky Chance-Thompson, CEO at The Piece Hall Trust, said: “We are all so happy to welcome back our tenants and customers to The Piece Hall.

“We offer a safe, relaxed and festive environment for you to buy some really interesting and thoughtful gifts for your loved ones, knowing you are supporting and sustaining our local traders.

“Throughout recent weeks, we’ve been working closely with our tenants, helping them to navigate the challenging circumstances and trade safely online, and it’s been fantastic to see many businesses, not only in The Piece Hall but throughout Calderdale, showing such resilience in adversity.”

Reopening follows the success of The Piece Hall’s new click & collect service, which saw consumers shop local and support independent businesses throughout the second lockdown.

In line with latest restrictions, The Piece Hall’s food and beverage outlets will remain closed. However, where possible these have been converted into takeaway.
