Investors show confidence in virtual networking start-up

Investors from across the UK have pledged over £100,000 to support a new business enablement tool which claims to become the future of business growth and networking.

Private investors have recognised the global potential of start-up business Meeow to take a significant share in the company, as it embarks on further growth and expansion.

UK-based Meeow, which was set up by two Yorkshire businessmen, is seeking £150,000 in crowdfunding investment to launch its own stand-alone platform in February 2021.

So far, 126 investors have pledged more than £112,000 in the future of Meeow – 75% of the target in just under two months.

Founded in May 2020, Meeow is a product of the pandemic which brought traditional meet-in-person networking to a halt.

It helps SME businesses search out and explore new business opportunities. The concept is built upon bringing together four people, at random, to talk about their business, make new connections and seek advice with a view to enable business growth.

Co-founder, Chris Rabbitt, said: “2020 has changed the way everyone in business works and our investors have recognised that networking has evolved and won’t go back to the way it was.

“Many small and medium-sized businesses solely rely on networking to market themselves to potential new clients and Meeow has already proved successful with a launch into the lucrative US market.”

Co-founder Simon Glenn added: “The power of networking cannot be under-estimated and Meeow unlocks that power to help clients grow their business, and in a very cost-effective way.

“Since our launch on the BETA network in July 2020 we have grown from offering four meeows a week to over 35 meeows a week, only limited by the capacity of the BETA network.

“Demand for our service has grown significantly but as a result of this technology limit our waiting times to book a meeow have lengthened too.

“In order for us to meet this demand and maximise our potential in the marketplace we need our own stand-alone and bespoke platform which can offer unlimited growth and reach across the globe.

“The £150,000 investment will facilitate the creation of the platform and immediately expand the network capacity.

“The launch of the new platform is set for February 2021 and we are excited that investors want to join us on this journey.”
