New office launch for planning and urban design business

Clare Plant

Planning and urban design consultancy nineteen47 is expanding with the opening of a new Sheffield office, headed by planning consultant Clare Plant.

She joins nineteen47 with a wealth of cross-sector town planning experience, most recently as a director acting for public and private sector clients across Yorkshire and the north of England.

The Sheffield office, located at Acero in the city centre, builds on the firm’s existing York and Nottingham bases, from which clients are advised on planning and urban design.

nineteen47 also offers specialist services to the development sector, including 3D images, flythroughs and virtual reality.

Plant said: “nineteen47 is rapidly establishing itself as the most innovative planning and urban design consultancy in the north.

“I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to establish the Sheffield office and to continue the well-managed expansion of the award-winning business.”

Founding director of nineteen47, Jamie Pyper, added: “We’re absolutely delighted to welcome Clare to the team and to open an office in Sheffield which is buzzing with growth in the planning and development sectors.

“Clare’s appointment also follows the promotion of Rebecca Beardsley to senior planner, Emma Allard to senior urban designer and Ellie Squiers to urban designer, in what has been a successful year for the company, despite the challenges of 2020.”

Established in 2015, nineteen47 delivers planning, urban design and visualisation services to a range of clients, working on sites across the country.

The firm is now also looking to recruit an experienced principal or associate planner for its York office.
