Pub portfolio on the market following administration

Five alehouse pubs are up for sale, including four properties in Yorkshire and one in Lancashire.

Specialist business property advisor, Christie & Co, has been re-instructed to market the portfolio on behalf of joint administrators, Simon Bonney and Michael Kiely of Quantuma. The pair were appointed on 6 March 2019.

Previously operated under management and trading under the Authentic Alehouses Limited brand, the five freehold properties are broadly located within a corridor along the M62.

They include: Albert Hotel, in Hull; Countess of Rosse, in Shipley; Ponty Tavern, in Pontefract; Wakey Tavern, in Wakefield; and Fountain Inn, Barnoldswick, Lancashire.

All four of the Yorkshire properties, The Albert Hotel, Ponty Tavern, Wakey Tavern and the Countess of Rosse are substantial, traditional public houses, prominently located in busy town-centre or suburban locations.

The remaining pub, The Fountain Inn, is a smaller site located in a rural location.

The properties are equipped for use as a public house with letting rooms and/or dining rooms. A mixture of managers accommodation and letting rooms are also featured on the sites.

All five sites have been operated by creditors since Authentic Alehouses Limited entered administration in 2019.

Neil Morgan, senior director in Christie & Co’s Corporate Hospitality team is leading the sale, with support from Christie & Co’s regional network of agents.

He said: “We’re delighted to bring the portfolio to market on behalf of administrators. The properties have been well maintained and we anticipate strong interest in these particular assets that are priced at a level which is likely to attract numerous prospective buyers.”
