£2m investment to overhaul and expand wedding venue

Carlton Manor, a wedding venue in the East Riding of Yorkshire, is set to open in April 2021.

The current wedding venue, which has recently been acquired by Nic Marshall and Simon Spinks, will be completely overhauled and rebranded into a multi-use site.

This is new territory for Nic Marshall, owner of the call centre, ResQ, which has sites in Hull and Seaham and has recently created 120 new jobs in Hull.

Marshall and Spinks have invested £2m into the renovation of the site ready to support the increasing wedding and domestic travel demand, and have enlisted the help of local interior designers, Matthews Mee Limited.

The specialist interior design practice will transform the venue into a stylish destination, one which complements the surrounding East Yorkshire landscape.

The site will be available for exclusive private hire for weddings, corporate events and staycations.

Plans for the site include a master tepee for weddings, which can hold up to 150 guests, an eight-room manor house and a secluded two-bedroom cottage.

For those looking for a UK break, the site will also house 10 luxury staycation pods to accommodate additional wedding and leisure guests. However, these will not be available until the end of 2021.

Marshall, owner of Carlton Manor, said: “I am incredibly excited to launch Carlton Manor, and start welcoming couples from spring 2021 – providing it is safe to do so and Government guidelines permit it.

“This project has a huge personal value to me as it has been known in my family for years, with my daughters having worked at the venue previously.

“I am also passionate about all things Yorkshire, having grown up here myself. It’s important now, more than ever, to support the businesses of our region, and it is a goal of mine to try to source everything we can locally.

“Carlton Manor will be an amazing, creative canvas for couples to put their own stamp on and make the place their own.”
