Flooring specialist lays foundations for future growth

The past 12 months have been a challenging time for both businesses and individuals but for one firm, lockdown lead a rollercoaster of soaring sales and have allowed it to lay the foundations for future growth.
Leeds-based Stories Flooring has reported sales were up by 43%, as a result of people turning to DIY as a means to not just alleviate boredom but further improve their homes. However the firm’s boost has also coincided a rebrand which has looked to reposition it as one of the UK’s leading specialist interior design retailers.
Founded in 2018 and previously known as Lifestyle Flooring UK, the firm has invested £250,000 into the business, creating 20 new jobs and launching a new online presence as Stories Flooring, and its founder says he is now optimistic for the future and believes the business will continue its growth.

The business has also launched a partnership with Swedish flooring pioneers Kahrs and become the only company in Yorkshire to Kahrs Platinum Online Retailer status.
Stories Flooring founder, Yarl Christie said: “The past year has been a rollercoaster ride unlike any other, but we’ve been overwhelmed with the public interest in interior design and the feedback we’ve had since we rebranded.
He added that it was great to be supporting the local economy with job creation during this difficult time and added: “I’m confident our new team is more than capable of taking Stories to the next level. I’m optimistic that 2021 will end up being a better year for all of us and look forward to growing the team over the next few years.”
