Construction starts on 245-home scheme

Housebuilder, Barratt Developments Yorkshire East has begun construction at a new residential development on Doncaster Road in Hatfield.

The site, called Kings Lodge, will comprise up to 245 two, three and four-bedroom homes on the edge of the village, with the first set to be available to buy from spring.

As part of the scheme’s approved plans, Barratt will contribute over £835,000 of community support for local education, highways, and sustainable transport provisions.

Daniel Smith, managing director at Barratt Developments Yorkshire East, said: “Kings Lodge will offer a fantastic location for people at all stages of the property ladder to call home and gives us a great opportunity to commit significant levels of funding to vital local amenities.

“Last year saw us make a real difference to a number of the communities in which we build, and we’re eager to continue this momentum as work progresses at Kings Lodge.”

The Government’s Help to Buy scheme will be available on selected properties across the development.
