Making moves: Scaling your business for future growth
Lockdown has fueled a rise in start-ups – 315,000 new companies were incorporated in the UK between March & July 2020 – but how can these companies and those that are scaling up support the North’s and the UK’s economic recovery?
In the latest free webinar by TheBusinessDesk.com in partnership with the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund we will look at the challenges that smaller businesses are facing and hear first hand from businesses who are on a growth trajectory.
The expert panel, which includes Asif Hamid MBE, chair of Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership and Sarah Ellerby, CEO, Nova Pangea and former professional pool player who has a track record of leading growth, will provide insights into how collaboration can help you scale quickly and effectively and share the lessons they’ve learnt along the way.
They will be joined by Sue Barnard, North West senior manager at British Business Bank and Peter Treadwell, fund manager for NPIF Microfinance who will provide information about the support available to start-ups and scale ups.
The session will also consider how the North’s entrepreneurial spirit is supporting the government’s levelling up agenda and how with the right moves it can help the country’s economic recovery from Covid-19.
The £500m Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund was established in 2017 with the ambition to transform the funding landscape across the North of England and help to create economic prosperity on par with London and the South East.
To date, NPIF has directly invested more than £233m, in deals that have attracted an additional £279m of investment from the private sector.
This is helping business owners that had previously been under-served by traditional lenders to expand, enter new markets and create thousands of new jobs.
The Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund is one of the partners for the upcoming virtual conference Invest North which will bring together business and policy leaders to set the agenda for what’s to come next for the North. Early bird tickets for the event are now live, click here to order.
