Levelling up Agenda: Opportunities and the agglomeration effect

The 2021 Budget signalled the Government’s intentions to deliver upon its levelling up agenda. Its plans to establish the new National Infrastructure Bank in Leeds and a Treasury campus in Darlington demonstrate the Government’s ambition to balance the economy by locating its operations throughout the country. When you link this to the Freeports on the Tees and the Humber and the offshore wind projects in these areas, it is great news for the UK economy. We’re particularly pleased that our client, Able UK, is leading the offshore wind revolution at Able Marine Energy Park with a £500m investment on the Humber.

Graham Robb, Recognition PR, discusses with Ian Gilthorpe, senior partner at Square One Law, Bob Robinson, director at planning consultancy DPP and Lee Powell, divisional managing director at GMI Construction the opportunities this will bring to the private sector and the agglomeration effect.
