Work starts on constructing 4,000 sq ft industrial property

Potter Space, which owns and operates five business parks across the UK, is continuing its investment and expansion programme with the construction of a new industrial unit on its Ripon site.

With a high demand for smaller industrial premises, and the business park fully let, the company is speculatively building a 4,000 sq ft unit, with five-metre eaves height, two electric roller shutter doors and dedicated concrete yard.

Work has now begun on site with completion scheduled for June 2021.

Jenna Strover, head of commercial delivery, said: “We are receiving a growing number of enquiries for units of all sizes but especially ones of this size which are perfect for smaller, growing businesses and start-ups who want to be close to the A1(M) and be well-placed for York and Harrogate.

“Recognising this demand and the needs of customers, not just in Ripon but across all our other business parks, we have developed a strategic expansion programme.

“We are planning to effectively use the land we have available on the 250-acre estate to build new accommodation, of differing sizes, to meet the market’s requirements.”

She will be working alongside Potter Space’s construction manager, John Royle who joined the company in February having been a senior site manager at a leading construction company.

With the expansion programme underway, Royle will be drawing on his extensive construction experience and will be responsible for all the elements of the build, from groundworks through to practical completion and delivery.

Strover added: “There are currently 12 excellent customers operating from the Ripon site, with a real cross section of businesses including, animal feed, steel stockholding, fabricating, removals, storage and engineering.

“With the level of enquiries, we are confident we will soon be welcoming a new company choosing Potter Space Ripon as a home for their business.”
