Dozens of apartments destined for former office block

An office block in Scarborough is to be converted into 55 apartments.

Property firm Solomon New Homes, a specialist in the development of residential apartments from unused commercial buildings, will transform Pavilion House, in Pavilion Square.

The building will host 52 single bedroom units and three two bed apartments and will be designed to attract young professionals and small families.

Apartment interiors have been designed by Kate Kingston, owner of Kingston Shaw Interior Design.

Solomon founder, Andrew Wards, said: “We’re excited about bringing a great development like Pavilion House to an area that is teaming with economic success and natural beauty.

“Scarborough is only second to London in the UK’s most popular holiday destinations thus attracting large amounts of investment over the past five years with 10,000 local jobs to be created by 2030.

“We hope to attract professionals into the area by meeting the demand for first time buyers of high quality builds that will also provide a return for investors and contribute to the growth of the local economy.”

Apartment prices start from £95,000 with the development on track for a quarter four 2022 completion date.
