Doors supplier invests £175,000 in showroom extension
Leeds-based bi-fold and sliding door specialist, Express Bi-Folding Doors, has completed major extension works at its Millshaw Park showroom.
It allows customers to explore several full-sized display homes in a 27,000 sq ft space alongside numerous kitchens, allowing visitors to see how the products look and feel in various settings.
The £175,000 upgrade includes the creation of a new second floor, enabling the business to display even more of its products.
The investment also supported the creation of a 360° virtual tour of the showroom as well as new signage.
Express Bi-Folding Doors’ extension project follows a £200,000 investment earlier in the year which supported the creation of a new e-commerce offering, Express Bi-Folds Direct.
Steve Bromberg, managing director, said: “Despite the challenges of 2020, we were able end the year on a high.
“The pandemic has thrown out our usual seasonality so despite the weather, a very early Christmas cut-off deadline – again because of the pandemic – COVID-19 in general and lengthy showroom closures we had a much better than anticipated winter period with a significant uplift on last year’s sales.
“We achieved nearly 25% above our quarter forecast between December and February 2021, which is usually our quietest quarter.
“Sales were up 22% on the same period period last year, highlighting the increased demand for our products.
“This has allowed us to put significant investment back into the business to ensure we’re capitalising on the growing demand for expertly designed and British built glass systems.
“The nearly £400,000 investment has allowed us to launch a new e-commerce arm as well as renovate the Leeds showroom, ready to welcome customers back on 12 April.
“We’re excited to show off our new ranges and can’t wait to help people bring the outside in this summer.”
