Centre to resume its support for people seeking jobs or training

National recruitment and training solutions provider, Qube Learning, is preparing to re-open its Kick Start Centre in Bradford for those looking for training and employment, in the city.

Situated on Rawson Place, the centre aims to make it easier for the people to access further education services and is open to anyone looking for training to help gain employment, or to train in new skills to aid progression, within their existing job role.

Recent data shows 32,190 inhabitants of Bradford were claiming unemployment benefits, in February 2021 – a rate of 9.7% of the working age population and an increase of 1,300 claimants, since January.

This increase includes new claimants, who are claiming universal credit due to the pandemic, according to the City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council.

Adrian Grove, business development director of Qube Learning, said: “These are notable statistics that need confronting and resolving, imminently. Our key objective is to change the city’s unemployment position.”

He explained the Kick Start Centre is designed to help people who wish to work in a vocational capacity, over the age of 16, with or without traditional qualifications, from anywhere in the city.

Grove added: ‘The worldwide health crisis has impacted an immeasurable number of businesses and we believe that encouraging traineeships, that hopefully turn into full-time employment, will make a very positive difference to the economy in this region.

“With a less conventional way into learning, while gaining relevant exposure in certain industries, this viable route can assist in moulding a future that some individuals never thought possible.

“We are a welcoming team at the centre. We work closely with the student and the employer to ensure it is a fluid journey that creates constructive change for all those involved.”
