Sheffield law firm acquired

Louise Rawson

Sills & Betteridge LLP has acquired Sheffield-based boutique legal practice Rawson Family Law.

It is the latest acquisition for the East Midlands firm which moved into South Yorkshire in 2018 and 12 months later merged with full service legal practice Bridge Sanderson Munro of Doncaster, Bawtry, Thorne and Wath Upon Dearne.

This latest development realises the firm’s aspiration to expand into Sheffield, where it ultimately plans to provide a full range of legal services.

As part of the deal Louise Rawson has been appointed principal solicitor. Rawson has over twenty years’ experience in all areas of family law including divorce and financial matters, cohabitational disputes including applications to the court, children issues including contact and care arrangements and emergency applications for domestic violence injunctions.

Commenting on the decision to join forces with Sills & Betteridge Rawson said: “It has been hugely rewarding building up Rawson Family Law and supporting my clients through their relationship and family issues, but I feel the time is now right to let a large firm take over the development of the practice as part of its own operations. I am looking forward to a new era working with Sills & Betteridge and enjoying the support of my new colleagues.”

Head of family law, Helen Derry said “Louise combines a sensitive, personable touch with a pragmatic approach to achieving the very best outcomes for her clients. She will make an excellent addition to the family team in Doncaster and help us to drive forward our plans for Sheffield.”
