Dozens more jobs created at cake and dessert maker

BBF Ltd, a cake and dessert manufacturer, has created 65 new jobs at its Hull bakery after an uplift in sales.

The new jobs come as changing consumer buying habits have generated higher demand for the company’s products, including a new range of cake jars which are being produced out of the Hull base, amongst many other products for the UK’s supermarkets.

“The last year has been a challenge for most industries, but we are delighted to have seen continued growth and demand for new and innovative products, resulting in us being able to make new careers for people in Hull.

“Since the start of the year, we’ve launched some fantastic products and we have plenty more in the pipeline which we’re excited to rollout in the not too distant future.”

BBF Limited develops and manufactures an extensive range of cakes across several different categories including celebration cakes, fruit pies and tarts, chocolate enrobed cakes, Christmas cakes and mince pies.

The baker produces more than 600 million cakes and desserts annually for the UK’s biggest supermarkets.
