Extra space for staff and patients following medical centre refurb

Extensive work has been carried out at Northgate Medical Centre, in Wakefield, making the building better suited to the needs of both staff and patients for the foreseeable future.

The work has provided additional clinical space, with an additional 452 sq ft of mezzanine constructed which has provided an additional three consulting rooms and office space.

Assura, the real estate investment trust and long term property partner which manages the premises, says it has ensured the refurbishments have been done sustainably.

They include full LED lighting replacement and the installation of solar panels.

Alison Sugarman, practice manager at Northgate Surgery, said: “The practice is now a brighter and more welcoming space for patients and with the additional of clinical rooms we are much better placed to service our growing patient population.”

The GPs have now entered a new lease with Assura following completion of the refurbishment works.
