Diners tuck in at 140-seat Brazilian themed restaurant

A new bar and grill has finally opened its doors in Rotherham.

Rancheros Rodizio Bar and Grill serves a Brazilian-inspired menu, including many cuts of meats on skewers cooked above hot coals and carved tableside.

The menu includes hot and cold buffet items, as well as vegetarian and vegan meals. The restaurant was due to open in 2020 but restrictions across England meant that plans were put on hold, not just once but twice.

The 140-seater restaurant, located in the Stag area of Rotherham between Whiston and Wickersley, has created more than 20 new full and part time jobs for the area.

Doncaster-based entrepreneur Masud Rana is behind the development.

Rana, who started his restaurant career in London almost two decades ago, owns three eateries in the region – La Rustica Italian Restaurant in Doncaster town centre, La Fiesta Spanish Tapas Bar and Restaurant in Armthorpe, Doncaster and La Boca – an Argentinian inspired Steakhouse on Netherhall Road, Doncaster.

He said: “I’m really excited to be opening Rotherham’s first Brazilian Bar and Grill, in an up-and-coming area of the town.

“The Stag area of Rotherham now has a cluster of restaurants and bars and I’m proud to be playing a part in its growth.

“Rancheros Bar and Grill will give visitors from the local area another choice when it comes to eating out in the borough. We are hoping to attract guests from surrounding areas.”

Jackie Freeborn, chief executive of Rotherham Pioneers, said: “We’re thrilled to be welcoming Rancheros to Rotherham. It offers something different for the town and I’m sure it’ll prove popular with both local residents and those coming from further afield, too.

“The Stag area now has a number of restaurants and a range of bars which will attract people to the area and be a boost to the local economy.”
