Car park site to accommodate dozens of homes

A former car park site in Sheffield is being turned into a modern apartment block featuring more than 60 homes.

The scheme has been named The Lock and is being built by Solomon New Homes.

Once complete, The Lock will feature 61 units made up of five studios, 48 one-bedroom and eight two-bedroom apartments over five storeys.

Solomon New Homes says The Lock will be just one part of a series of developments throughout Sheffield, which it adds are set to create 25,000 job by 2024, along with 33,000 higher skilled jobs by 2040.

Apartment interiors have been designed by Kate Kingston, owner of Kingston Shaw Interior Design.

Prices at the Lock will start from £145,000, with the development on track for a quarter three 2023 completion date.

Solomon founder, Andrew Ward, said: “We are very excited to bring modern, contemporary living for professionals to such a fantastic city.

“Sheffield is a city full of opportunity and we look to the future as developments like The Lock allow Sheffield’s £31bn economy to grow.”
