People: Trio Healthcare; One Stop Business Finance; Dacre, Son & Hartley; and more

Skipton and Knutsford-based ostomy specialist Trio Healthcare (Trio) has bolstered its senior leadership team through a series of key appointments, including new chief executive officer Chris Lane.

Lane will be stepping in for former CEO Lloyd Pearce, who will assume the role of chief technology officer.

Lane has acted as Trio’s chief operating officer over the last two years.

He will drive forward the business’ commercial and manufacturing operations as it gears up for the global launch of its product range, GeniiTM.

The launch will significantly advance Trio’s share of the international ostomy products market, currently valued at $1.5bn.

In his new role, Pearce will oversee the company’s R&D team, having been fundamental to the development of Trio’s proprietary breathable silicone technology, Sil2TM.

The business has also promoted Helen Jennings from finance director to chief financial officer.

Jennings’ is a chartered accountant and has previously worked for Deloitte and Crawford Healthcare.

She assumes responsibilities from chief strategy officer Spencer Kerry, who oversaw the completion of a $10m/£7.3m funding round from SWK Holdings (SWK) in July this year.

Kerry will move into the role of non-executive director, advising on Trio’s rapid international expansion.

The appointments follow key international hires made by the company in April, when it welcomed Christian Stegle as business director for Asia Pacific, and Hussain Malkawi, business director for the Middle East.

Lane said: “It’s an incredibly exciting time to be part of the Trio team, and I’m grateful for the support of the business as I assume the role of CEO.

“Lloyd has played a pivotal role in Trio’s growth over the last 15 years, and it is a natural next step for him to assume the new role of CTO where he will continue to inspire our team to push boundaries in ostomy R&D.

“I’m delighted also to welcome Helen into her role as CFO. Her experience and diligence places the company in very good hands.

“As we continue to grow rapidly and outpace our competition, our sights are firmly set on delivering our unique technology to a growing number of international markets.

“We have spent a number of months ensuring everything is in place for the successful launch of our new stoma bag range, in order to replicate the success it has already seen within the UK ostomy market.

“As ever, our commitment to improving the quality of life for those living with stomas by challenging the lack of innovation in the ostomy market is steadfast.

Pearce added: “I wish Chris, Helen and Spencer all the best in their new roles, and am grateful for their support as I step into the CTO role.

“It has been, and continues to be, an enormous pleasure and source of great pride to see Trio grow, and the company is well-positioned for truly transformational growth under Chris’ astute guidance.

“I am excited to oversee our portfolio of world-beating silicone technologies and explore future innovation opportunities as CTO, continuing to work alongside the very best in the industry.”

Yorkshire-based independent SME funding specialist, One Stop Business Finance, has completed a major programme of investment to support its growth plans which has significantly increased the size of its UK-wide business development team.

The company has grown its business development team from four to seven, with the appointment of Steve Norton, Sarah Aylward and Kelly West.

They will serve a growing client base chiefly across the Midlands and East Anglia, where – like all parts of the UK – the company is ideally placed to meet the pent-up demand from SMEs who often find it difficult to obtain finance solutions from mainstream banks due to their relatively inflexible lending criteria.

The company says it expects to see strong growth for its services across the board in the next 12 months, which has driven the need for additional personnel.

It adds that over the past year, it has experienced two of its busiest and most profitable quarters in its seven-year history, despite the impact of the pandemic and availability of Government support schemes.

In addition to the new appointments, the business has also promoted Rebecca Ennis to business development director to head its client-facing team.

She previously worked with clients in the East Midlands region, but in her new national role she will be supporting her colleagues and clients in all areas and support businesses in any industrial sector.

Ennis said: “I am very excited about the medium and long-term expansion plans we have for the business. This is just the beginning, but what a great beginning it is.

“We have such a strong, bright team bringing a vast array of skills to the whole business and, of course, to other businesses that we do and will collaborate with, so I can’t wait for the results to show.

“As I said when I started at One Stop Business Finance two and a half years ago, and this point is now only stronger, I am very proud to be representing the team.”

A new sales valuer has been appointed at Dacre, Son & Hartley’s Settle office, following a record period of growth for the Yorkshire estate agent.

Andrew Wilson, who grew up in Settle on his family’s farm, joins from another local estate agent and first started working in the industry eight years ago.

Tom Galloway, who heads the Settle office, said: “We sell every type of property from smart apartments through to country homes and farmhouses, across a wide catchment area spanning the Ribble Valley, Yorkshire’s Three Peaks district and Kirkby Lonsdale.

“Andrew has the right experience, industry qualifications and approach to customer service, as well as excellent local knowledge, and he is a welcome addition to our team.”

Wilson said: “I was keen to join Dacres which is a market leading firm with a great reputation across North and West Yorkshire.

“It’s a varied and busy role and the property market is extremely active at the moment. I’m really looking forward to working with Tom, senior sales negotiator, Mel, and Ian, who provides mortgage advice, and feel very privileged to be helping people bring their homes to the market.”

Galloway added: “At this time of year there tends be a slowdown in market valuations as people go on holiday.

“But we have been very busy in August and Andrew’s appointment allows us to carry out even more valuations for people living in Settle and the surrounding areas of Giggleswick, Langcliffe, Austwick, Hellifield, Clapham, Ingleton and Bentham.”
