Dozens of staff sought for supported living scheme

Supported living provider, Eden Futures, is looking to hire 48 new staff members to help people ready to move into new accommodation in West Yorkshire.

The supported living service in Pudsey will open in spring 2022 and will contain 12 apartments and eight specialist bungalows within a purpose-built development.

Eden Futures works with adults who are autistic, have learning disabilities, enduring mental ill health and high support needs to support them in their everyday life.

The business has provided flexible long-term care and support for people for over 25 years across northern England and the Midlands.

This involves on-site support, where people live independently but support workers are available 24 hours a day. Eden Futures currently assists 650 people across 152 sites.

Developer Pudsey SSL Limited is building the accommodation for Blue Square Residential and the commissioning teams of NHS Leeds Clinical Commissioning Group and Leeds City Council.

Dave Whittock, director of service development at Eden Futures, said: “Each person we support for the local commissioning team has their own tenancy agreement and front door, regardless of how complex their behavioural needs are.

“With a business commitment to open new services to support people in their homes, Eden Futures’ immediate plans include two further schemes in Hull, and ones in Leeds, Nuneaton, Newark, Stoke and Birmingham.

“We need to fill 250 full time job posts for professional, skilled workers over the next few years. We’re undertaking a significant recruitment drive to provide specialist assistance for people in supported living.”
