Extension and improvements completed at sports and leisure centre

The new £2.2m redevelopment at East Riding Leisure Haltemprice, in Hull, will officially open on 4 October 2021.

Offering a workout space with extended gym areas, dedicated Group X exercise studio and new consultation rooms, the extension is designed to provide more space to help customers get the most out of their workout session.

The 100 station gym will also have the latest Matrix strength and cardiovascular kit technology. It houses new toilet facilities, and there are more car parking spaces.

The works were designed and managed by the council’s in-house Building Design Group and procured via the YORhub suite of construction frameworks. They were carried out by local contractor Hobson and Porter Ltd.

With the opening of the extension, East Riding Leisure Haltemprice will return to its full sports hall programme, and will welcome clubs and activities back in October.
