Firm wins contract worth £33m to help improve national highways network

A Pontefract-based infrastructure maintenance and installation business has been awarded £33m of bridge expansion joints and waterproofing works.

Route One Infrastructure has secured this work with the National Highways  Scheme Delivery Framework (SDF) in four geographical areas in England over the next six years.

It is part of National Highways’ roll-out of its asset delivery model for operating, maintaining and improving the strategic road network of motorways and major A roads throughout England.

Route One Infrastructure will form part of the framework’s teams of specialist contractors, in addition to continuing to deliver Expansion Joints under National Highways’ older Construction Works Framework model until April 2023.

Matthew Pert, director of the business, said: “Being placed in first position in all the four areas we bid for is testament to the quality of our people and supports our business strategy of being the market leader in the UK for the delivery of bridge maintenance and repair.

“We look forward to continued and new collaborative relationships with National Highways and other SDF contractors and delivering on the requirements of our client.”
