Spend management CFO recognised with Deal of the Year award

The Leeds-based chief financial officer at spend management company Proactis has been awarded the ‘Yorkshire Finance Deal of the Year’ accolade at this year’s Yorkshire Finance Leaders Awards.

Richard Hughes, who has been with Proactis for almost three years, received the award for his outstanding work on the acquisition of Proactis by Pollen Street Capital and DBAY Advisors Ltd. He took a central role in the deal, which was concluded in July 2021, with the aim of continuing Proactis’ growth as an international Business Spend Management market leader.

The awards which are sponsored by Aon plc, BDO LLP and Lloyds Bank and TheBusinessDesk.com is the media partner of, recognise and celebrate exceptional financial leadership in the Yorkshire region from the past 12 months, with nine categories highlighting the best talent across a range of businesses and organisations.

The Finance Deal of the Year Award is presented to the finance leader who has played a significant role in either the acquisition, disposal or merger of a business, or completed a successful financial or commercial restructuring.

Hughes said: “I’m very proud to have been involved in this deal as it will help Proactis achieve ambitious goals. The recognition at the Yorkshire Finance Leaders Awards not only validates the scale of the project, but also the fantastic work put in by many Proactis colleagues.”
