Private equity firm seals two deals in one week

Leeds-based private equity firm, Winch & Co, has completed two separate acquisitions in a single week.

The firm acquired both Eclipse Distribution Solutions Limited and Browns Garden Buildings Limited in separate deals for combined sums in excess of £2.5m.

Nathan Winch, owner of Winch & Co, said: “Shaun Swinburn and the team have been instrumental in getting this deal over the line. We completed this acquisition in the same week as another purchase – so it’s safe to say we worked our legal team that week!”

Winch & Co was represented by Richard Coulthard, partner and head of commercial law at Ison Harrison solicitors in Leeds, who said: “It was fantastic to support Nathan and the team on these and other acquisitions they have planned.

“We have seen significant growth in our commercial teams over the last few years by offering local businesses proactive legal support across a wide range of commercial topics.

“Our relationship with Winch & Co and the ongoing support we offer them exemplifies the benefits of having a close working relationship with our clients to ensure they achieve their goals.”

Winch & Co has further acquisitions planned for 2022 and its immediate plans are to grow both Eclipse Distribution Solutions Limited and Browns Garden Buildings Limited.

Nathan Winch added: “We want to grow the business by acquisition and are looking for complementary companies.

“We are also working with our network to achieve substantial organic growth in parallel.”

Winch & Co currently employs over 100 staff across various businesses and continues to look for acquisition opportunities. Ison Harrison solicitors has 16 offices around Yorkshire employing over 180 staff.
